First Time Homebuyers Services
Home ownership is important for families as a home typically represents a family's largest asset and helps provide stability and financial security. Home ownership also impacts our community as a whole. Crime rates are lower when more people own their home and it is easier to recruit additional businesses to relocate to Flagstaff when home ownership is attainable.
BOTHANDS Homebuyer Assistance Program is designed to help first-time homebuyers make educated, informed decisions regarding the purchase of their first home. Goals of the program include helping clients understand what is affordable to them, utilizing down payment assistance as appropriate, preparing a budget to handle the increase in costs associated with homeownership, and sustaining homeownership by avoiding foreclosure.
One-on-One Counseling:
Customized to fit each client's need, our counseling services include - but are not limited to -budgeting, credit restoration for home purchase, program eligibility determination and review of loan products and terminology. Counselors work with clients to determine where they are in the homebuying process, which down payment programs they may be eligible for and what next steps the client should take in order to realize their homeownership goals.
Educational Workshops
Group workshops give our clients information on our programs, budget and credit, the mortgage process and the local real estate market. The group setting encourages interaction between clients, all workshops are led by NeighborWorks-trained educators. Click here for a complete list and schedule of classes.
